Rosie O’Donnell says she’s abandoning her blog:
“When I started to blog, no one knew what a blog was,” O’Donnell tells PEOPLE while cutting the ribbon at the brand-new Maravel Arts Center Monday. “Then it got so commonplace, it was kind of being used on entertainment shows as edited pieces. I was like, ‘It’s not worth it.’ It wasn’t providing the joy that it used to.”
I quickly discovered that all of my crazy was available for people to easily pick at online, espeically my hare-brained 9/11 Trutherisms. I don’t like people questioning my sanity, or, quite frankly, holding me to any account. That’s why I almost ate Elizabeth Hasselbeck on The View; she questioned my authori-tay!!11!!!ELVENTY11!
And people didn’t know what a blog was back in 2006, 2007? That’s the earliest “posts” I can find of yours, Ms. O’Donnell. Hell, all your close pals at Huffigton Post knew what a blog was at least a year sooner! Glenn Reynolds has been running Instapundit since 2001. The logest running weblog can be claimed by Rupert Goodwins of ZDNet UK… de’s been posting since 1996!
Goodbye, Rosie. I’d say, “don’t let the door hit your ass on the way out,” but it probably will anyway.
All common sense and caution has been thrown to the wind in the latest multi-generational act of theft by congress labeled benignly as a “stimulus” bill. Read the entire article; here’s the opening and closing:
“Never let a serious crisis go to waste. What I mean by that is it’s an opportunity to do things you couldn’t do before.”
So said White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel in November, and Democrats in Congress are certainly taking his advice to heart. The 647-page, $825 billion House legislation is being sold as an economic “stimulus,” but now that Democrats have finally released the details we understand Rahm’s point much better. This is a political wonder that manages to spend money on just about every pent-up Democratic proposal of the last 40 years.
This is supposed to be a new era of bipartisanship, but this bill was written based on the wish list of every living — or dead — Democratic interest group. As Speaker Nancy Pelosi put it, “We won the election. We wrote the bill.” So they did. Republicans should let them take all of the credit.
Dammit, people, get mad! This will affect your grandchildren for God’s sake! All this SH*T will become a PERMANENT PART of the FEDERAL BUDGET, INCREASING EVERY YEAR!
Let’s not forget President Obama’s own words from his inaugural address:
And those of us who manage the public’s dollars will be held to account — to spend wisely, reform bad habits, and do our business in the light of day — because only then can we restore the vital trust between a people and their government.
Bad habits? Back to ’em.
Business by daylight? Bill written behind closed doors.
Please call your representatives… tear up those phone lines!
UPDATED (3:58 PM PST) – Congratulations, House Democrats… you own it.
Have a look at this disgusting diatribe on The Huffigton Post:
Fox News Doesn’t Care About Black People
At Fox News, inauguration day looked like the first afternoon a Negro used the local country club tennis courts following a legal settlement.
While there were many forced smiles and obligatory discussions of this “historic” day, there was just as much complaining about the size of the event, the expense involved, and the number of celebrities in attendance. We kept waiting for someone to blurt out, “We don’t mind having a black couple in the White House, but do they need to be so uppity about it?”
They continue with that same meme regarding Bill “mind-f**kingly bizarre” O’Reilly (their words) and Michelle “whore for the far-right” Malkin (again their words). Their broadside at Michelle was especially bizarre (though par for the course on HuffPo) considering she is seldom on Fox News Channel anymore after parting ways with O’Reilly over the digusting comments made toward her by Geraldo Rivera on immigration issues.
Take note, fellow citizens: any dissent toward the Obama administration will continue to be interpreted as racist. Why? Because that is the defense the far-left media plays; rather than rebut with substance, they go straight for emotions and assumptions.
Got a problem with President Obama’s cabinet picks? Why do you hate African-Americans so much?
Got a problem with the conspicuously expensive inauguration? Why do have to hate on such a historic moment?
Got a problem with tired, old slogans being repeated? You’re a far-right whore.
Got a policy concern? Why do you want to crush people’s hopes?
So much for dissent being patriotic. Read Saul Alinsky’s Rules for Radicals and nothing this administration, or its supporters, will surprise you.
At least, that was the plan…
“Just as we are committed to making this the most open and accessible inauguration in history, we are also committed to making it the most environmentally sensitive,” Inauguration Committee spokeswoman Linda Douglass told FOXNews.com.
“This will be the greenest inauguration in history, because we have tried to be mindful of the potential effects on the environment that a large crowd could have. We are trying to do everything we possibly can to return Washington, D.C., to the same state in which we found it and to reduce our own footprint as much as we can.”
Here’s the reality: a “Post-Barackalyptic Wasteland“…
Via a local Richmond, VA station from the AP:
WASHINGTON (AP) – Inaugural revelers are lucky they didn’t get fined for littering.
As crowds cleared the city Tuesday, their trash covered the National Mall and Washington Monument grounds after President Barack Obama’s inauguration.
They left behind plastic bottles, newspapers, food wrappers, gloves and even American flags they had been waving. Trash bins overflowed with items people tossed.
Twenty-one-year-old Laura Wiesner of Youngstown, Ohio, was on the cluttered Mall near the Smithsonian’s American History Museum.
She says people’s quick exit – and failure to pick up after themselves – was a stark contrast to how grand the event had been. Crews face an overnight cleanup effort across the city as people empty Washington.
Let us also not forget the record number of private jets that were used by wealthy inaugural attenders.
Green for thee but not for me. So much for The One’s call for personal responsibility.
The new White House website unveiled by President Barack Obama’s team Tuesday includes a shot at former President Bush’s response to Hurricane Katrina.
Under the “agenda” portion of the site regarding Katrina, it reads: “President Obama will keep the broken promises made by President Bush to rebuild New Orleans and the Gulf Coast. He and Vice President Biden will take steps to ensure that the federal government will never again allow such catastrophic failures in emergency planning and response to occur.”
“President Obama swiftly responded to Hurricane Katrina,” the statement on the site continues. “Citing the Bush Administration’s ‘unconscionable ineptitude’ in responding to Hurricane Katrina, then-Senator Obama introduced legislation requiring disaster planners to take into account the specific needs of low-income hurricane victims.”
But, remember, it’s not about The One!
Like so many other items under the “Agenda” link, this appears to simply be a copy and paste from Change.gov, before that, BarackObama.com.
It’s the new Permanent Campaign campaign, comrade!
Just look at Whitehouse.gov… the only thing missing is a ‘Donate Now‘ button.
First off, I couldn’t give two sh*ts about Inaguration Tuesday. Anybody jaded enough to think we could never fairly vote a person of color or minority status to the nation’s highest office has my eternal pity for their shallow beliefs in our great country and her people. I mean, do you really have that little faith in America that such a thing could never happen? Feel the pity.
Finally, Nobel laureate, Paul Krugman’s, solution to the economy: massive government spending! Up to $5 TRILLION even! His most priceless quote:
“I say thank God we did not privatize Social Security; the one rock of our retirement system that is still there. At least we have that. It’s a reminder that’s it’s a good policy introduced 70 years ago,” Krugman said. “People have lost their portfolios. There’s not much Uncle Sam or anybody can do about that.”
Ha! Social Security is a rock all right, Paul! And it’s one of the rocks tied around our feet that is sinking us. It is bankrupt… trillions in unfunded obligations (this is not hypothetical, this is real). Long term, privatizing Social Security would have had a far better outlook that the current, broken program which was painted far too rosy by overly inflated wage-growth assumptions by the CBO. Now we may be out of time to act in such a way that will not put people’s retirements at risk.
This is the same Nobel laureate who said our government-run VA medical system is a success story. I’m not Nobel-grade material, but I recognize a government ponzi-scheme when I see one, regardless of how it is wrapped.
And of course, this economic solution he speaks of has to be done, “…fast and massively.” You know, so folks won’t have a chance to sniff the keynesian snake-oil and ask questions before it’s shoved down our throats.
And the Obamamedia circle jerk continues.
