Kagan on Speech

From the CNSNews article

“This does not mean that the government may never subject particular ideas to disadvantage. The government indeed may do so, if acting upon neutral, harm-based reasons.”

That sounds strangely familiar, and one of the comments nailed it…

“Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.” –Orwell, “1984”

As another poster opined…

I’ve been suspicious of Kagan, but kept an open mind. Now that I see her willingness to sophistry, I am convinced that she is indeed ethically unqualified for the bench.
